💭 Reflection: Challenging stigma from within

Let’s start by looking at our own experience. We’ve all been shaped by our environments. Religious teachings, cultural taboos, family conversations, or their silence, all play a role in how we think about abortion.

Unlearning stigma requires honesty, curiosity, and compassion.

💡 Reflection Questions
  • What ideas about abortion did you grow up with? Where did they come from?
  • Have you ever judged someone (or yourself) for considering or having an abortion?
  • Can you think of a situation where someone might need an abortion, even if you wouldn’t choose it for yourself?

Reflexivity is a critical part of our work as activists. Having explored our own experiences, let’s dig into the types of abortion stigma in detail. Just click “Next”.
